Privacy Policy
EVA ("EVA", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG).

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Invitation Application
When you submit an application through our invitation form, we collect:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Company name and website
- Your role or title
- The delegation challenge you describe
This data is transmitted to and stored in Zoho CRM, our customer relationship management system, operated by Zoho Corporation. Zoho processes data under its own privacy policy and our data processing agreement.
2.2 Preference Data
We store two items in your browser's localStorage:
eva-locale— your preferred language (en, de, or fr)eva-gdpr-consent— your cookie consent choice (accepted or declined)
These are functional and do not track you across sites. They are not transmitted to any server.
2.3 Server Logs
Our hosting infrastructure may automatically log IP addresses, browser type, referring URL, and page visit timestamps for security and performance monitoring. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are not used for marketing.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your personal data under the following GDPR legal bases:
- Article 6(1)(b) — Processing necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (application review).
- Article 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interests: security logging, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
- Article 6(1)(a) — Consent, where you have expressly agreed (e.g. cookie acceptance).
4. How We Use Your Data
- To review and respond to your membership application
- To contact you regarding your application status
- To manage the ongoing membership relationship
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
Application data is retained for 24 months from the date of submission. If a membership is established, data is retained for the duration of the membership plus 5 years to fulfil legal and contractual obligations. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. International Data Transfers
Zoho CRM may process data on servers outside Switzerland and the EEA. Such transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the Swiss Federal Data Protection Commissioner (FDPIC). You may request a copy of these safeguards by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR and the nDSG, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@eva.fyi. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss FDPIC (edoeb.admin.ch) or your local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The two localStorage entries described in Section 2.2 are functional only. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded.
9. Children
EVA is a professional business service. We do not knowingly collect data from persons under the age of 16.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated via the website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
